Austėja Auškalnytė "Liminal States" | Exhibition
Kaunas Artists' House will open its exhibition season with Liminal States, an exhibition by young artist Austėja Auškalnytė.
▋ The opening will take place on 10 March at 6 PM.
▋ The exhibition will be open at Kaunas Artists' House Gallery (2nd floor) until 1 April, Mon–Fri 10am–6pm, Sat 12pm–4pm.
The word liminal comes from the Latin limen, meaning a boundary or threshold. In English, it describes transitional states, often associated with transformation, anticipation, and uncertainty.
The exhibition will explore liminal states through sound and image. The journey begins with artistic photographs suspended between reality and dreams, between micro- and macro-worlds. These liminal and abstract spaces do not fully reveal their identity, and their intersections heighten the sense of the unknown inherent in liminality.

Austėja Auškalnytė’s work is characterized by a critical and philosophical approach to contemporary society and its environment. This exhibition is an invitation to pause, to listen to oneself and one’s surroundings from a new perspective, and to encounter a world that feels both strangely familiar and alien within the abstract realm of images.

The exhibition is free to visit.
