BiodiverCities II: workshop for improving urban biodiversity
Problem: intensive urban growth creates an environment that is only friendly to people, but not enough space for animals and plants.
(Possible) solution: Green spots in the city, planted with a variety of indigenous plants and left to grow naturally, help maintain ecological balance, reduce pollution, improve air quality and contribute to reducing overall urban temperatures.
We invite climate-concerned citizens to the presentation of the ongoing BiodiverCities II project and an interactive workshop. Participants will be introduced to a modular underground nesting bee "hotel" made of plant materials and food waste, printed with a 3D printer; learn about the benefits of returning organic waste to the soil and create a personalised urban biodiversity enhancement objects made of bioceramics.
