Carillon music concert "Songs of the Freedom Road"

Every Sunday in July, carillon music concerts will be performed by Austėja Staniunaitytė-Proietta, Roberta Daugėlaitė, and Raimundas Eimontas in the garden of the Vytautas the Great War Museum. Sunday concerts start at 16:00 and the 23rd of August concert at 12:00.

___ 4 August at 4pm. "Ancient Music of Bells". Performed by Austėja Staniunaitytė-Proietta.

___ 11 August at 4 pm. "Ennio Moriccone - soundtracks of legendary films". Performed by Roberta Daugėlaitė.

___ 18 August at 4 pm. "Songs of the Woods" - programmatic arrangements of classical works dedicated to nature. Performed by Roberta Daugėlaitė.

___ 23 August at 12 pm. "Songs of the Freedom Road" - a concert dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the Baltic Way. Performed by Austėja Staniunaitytė-Proietta.

___ 25 August at 4 pm. "The Sounding City: classics to the rhythm of bells". Performed by Austėja Staniunaitytė-Proietta.

Carillon is one of the most complex musical instruments in the world. The instrument's history, consisting of a set of chromatically tuned bells, goes back 500 years. The sophistication of the musical compositions played on the carillon directly depends on the experience, professionalism, and physical fitness of the carillon player - it is played with the hands (fists, fingers), and feet - often barefoot, to better feel the instrument.
