Food and Culture Festival Skanaus: European Cuisines 2022 - a recipe for the best impressions
After a seven-year break, the Food and Culture Festival, which attracted over three hundred participants and thousands of visitors, returns to Kaunas! On the 9-10th of September 2022, we invite you to Kaunas District, Garliava, Vytauto str. (from J. Lukša St. to Marijampolės str.) to acquaint food as a part of the culture that inspires good change and cuisine as a space for knowledge, discovery, and communication.
Culinary innovations, restaurant chef lessons, lectures, adrenaline-raising championships, music, fairs, entertainment, and many other activities are the festival recipe for inexhaustible sensations. The hustle and bustle of European cuisine will feature mixes of Spanish, Italian, French, and Lithuanian songs that will enslave every visitor. We will celebrate music and food - two favourite friends of everyone's everyday life.
The youngest guests of the festival will be waiting in a specially equipped area to get to know European food and culture. Educational lessons, creative tasks, and an animators team will ensure the involvement and positive emotions of little ones!Food and Culture Festival Skanaus: European Cuisines 2022 - a part of Kaunas 2022 European Capital of Culture program. After a twelve-year break, the title of European Capital of Culture returns to Lithuania - to the city of Kaunas. Around 40 festivals, more than 60 exhibitions, more than 250 stage events, and more than 250 concerts will occur in Kaunas and Kaunas District in 2022. Kaunas 2022 aims to unite cultural organizations and creators in the Kaunas region, Lithuania and Europe for a common purpose: the diversity of European cultures and the process that reveals the local identity, which will involve local people and partners of various sectors. The PURPOSE of the Festival
The purpose of the Food and Culture Festival Skanaus: European Cuisine 2022 is to introduce European food diversity, history, and the latest trends. We will seek to include all the possible categories of cooking, from traditional Lithuanian food and craft zones to the highest Master class lessons with professional chefs, making unconventional dishes.
We will strive not only to present and try different European cuisines but also to discover the diversity of cultures that would combine local people and partners for a common purpose. The European Food and Culture Festival will provide an opportunity to know Europe and its culture by tasting, comparing, discovering, and exploring!
